Iberia Bank Building
Have you ever been in locked in an empty bank all alone? I have! It was one of the creepiest shoots I’ve been on so far. While I was there, an unmarked box truck pulled in and then left. Then the police came and left, but nobody tried to enter or knocked or anything the whole time I was there. Rumor has it, it is being renovated to become a restaurant. I bet somebody really misses that corner office, what a view!

One of largest and most regal homes I have photographed was Villa Lago. Weighing in at nearly 10,000 sqft, this 2011 D’asign Source Built Home had the sweetest owners I had met in a long time. They were there during the shoot and took pride in showing me several interesting hand picked design materials and every one had a story from their past travels. One that really stuck with me was the barrel tile roof who’s cost they told me could rival the annual GDP of a small country.

Melody Key, Formerly owned by one of my favorite bands, 311! This private offshore Island was high tech! Even though it was off the grid, it had all of the creature comforts of home with solar power, tons of batteries, a generator and desalination plant. Located about 1/2 mile from Summerland Key, just 30 minutes northeast of Key West. It wasn’t quite as cool to just be taking photos there, but I could imagine quite the concert and parties there back in the day.
