People love twilight photography. When used as the primary “hero" image, your Real Estate listing will truly stand out from the crowd. The issue I’ve had with twilight shoots has always been the return on investment. An additional visit to shoot during twilight can be costly for just a few images. Most don’t realize that shooting twilight takes about as long on site as shooting an entire home and often times we use quite a bit of mosquito repellent!
Actual Twilight Samples:
To make twilight photos for Real Estate more accessible to those on a budget and not keep me out past my bedtime, we’re excited to offer Virtual Twilight Shoots. You’re probably thinking, Travis, what the heck is a virtual twilight shoot? A virtual twilight photo is simply a special image captured during the day with a twilight effect applied to that image during processing.
Virtual Twilight Samples:
We offer both actual twilight and virtual twilight shoots here at KPV. An actual twilight shoot will run you around $200 for 2 or 3 images. Virtual twilight is only $25 per image. One or two is plenty. Ask me about a Virtual Twilight image at your next new listing!

Architectural Photography or building photography is generally defined as photos focusing on building exteriors or building interiors as well as bridges, other structures. I see it as an opportunity to look at it from a different perspective and that means using multiple lenses. Zeroing in on the kitchen and bathrooms provides us with the artistic space to fill the frame differently or experiment with new perspectives rather than providing all of the context that a residential real estate photo shoot requires.
Commercial Photography
Commercial Photography is not as easy to define. Loosely it is a term used to define a photographer employed by a company to promote their product or service. A tighter definition by some photographers is that commercial photographs are different due to the intention behind the shot. This may sound a little abstract, but there certainly is a different feel to shooting a commercial project. I just can’t put words to it at this point, but I digress. I am simply trying to add some additional context to a photography project with less context than I am comfortable with. Weird right?
Architectural and Commercial Photography Project Spotlight - Kitchen & Bath Specialists
I recently had the pleasure of working with Pamela Molinaro with Kitchen & Bath Specialists. They specialize in custom kitchen and bath cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting and hardware. With over 20 years of experience making homes look beautiful and homeowners happy, we couldn’t resist shooting some commercial photography of their completed projects in an architectural style.
It was exciting to take the focus down a level to get up close and personal with detailed photos of some recent kitchen and bathroom renovation projects they have completed in Tavernier and Islamorada. I can see how architectural photography projects are alluring to photographers. I already have my eye on another lens and have some fresh ideas on how to improve and apply what I learned from this shoot to future real estate photoshoots and especially cinematic videos.
Enjoy these images and Call Pamela for your next Renovation Project!

In Benjamin Franklin’s autobiography, he said each morning he would say to himself, “What good shall I do today?” What an awesome way to start the day! May I make a few suggestions for your 2021 New Year's resolutions? A lot of you already do this kind of thing, but everyone needs the occasional assist. So if you’re in need of some ideas, here are a few that I’m shooting for in 2021.
- Over tip the cleaning staff, they had a tough 2020 and without their tireless efforts, our photos wouldn’t be as awesome and our hotel rooms not as clean.
- Be thankful for every interaction and give at least one sincere complement to somebody every day. “Cool Shoes!” “Your positivity is infectious!"
- Be patient and helpful in every situation. People are carrying a lot of stress and do not need anything else to worry about.
2020 Was certainly a crazy year with huge changes and a little less sleep for most of us, but we were fortunate enough to survive, learn some new things and continue to help people buy, sell and rent out homes in the Florida Keys. My support staff and I want to say thank you for your support of The Real Estate Book and Keys Property Visuals. It has not gone unnoticed and you are appreciated very much. Best wishes for much success in 2021.
Also, don’t buy that new mouse pad just yet. Your very own brand new, clean and fresh 2021 calendar mousepad will land on your desk in a week or so with production deadlines and street dates for The Real Estate Book of the Florida Keys. Here is a digital version to get you through the next couple of weeks.
